The only con is the bar is pretty thick (1.25) and has no knurling.
It's very sturdy if properly installed, which shouldn't be too difficult for most people. The set comes with lag screws.
The supports HAVE to be spaced 48 apart. It's not a problem as virtually every house in America has studs (joists, really, in this case) that distance apart, whether they are on 16 or 24 centers and 48 is divisible by both.
In my case, I installed this in a walk-in closet. The joists weren't where I wanted them, so I bridged them with two sheets of 3/4 inch plywood, then attached the supports to the pull up bar into the plywood. I painted the plywood white to match the ceiling. It was more work but otherwise the bar would be too far to the left or right for me.
You get a very wide 48 bar.
