Coaching 101 - Part 1: WOD Explanation & Warmup

For the first round of this new series, we put a microphone on Again Faster founder and former member of CrossFit's Level 1 Seminar staff, Jon Gilson as he trains the Tuesday night class at CrossFit Reebok Back Bay in Boston, Massachusetts.

In this episode, the class begins around the whiteboard, where Gilson reiterates to his athletes the night's WOD, then sends them into their warmup of pullups, pushups, and squats. In the post-class interview, he explains his thinking behind spending the time to go over the WOD prior to anything else, and why he chose those particular movements as a warmup.
