BUMPER PLATE TERMINOLOGY

DUROMETER RATING

The Shore A Durometer Rating is a measure of rubber hardness.

 

The higher the rating, the harder the rubber.

 

Bumpers with high Durometer ratings have very low bounce, but will be louder when dropped and don't have as long of a lifespan.

 

Weight plates with lower ratings have a soft, higher bounce with less noise and are very durable.

VULCANIZED RECYCLED RUBBER

Again Faster Crumb Bumper Plates are made from vulcanized recycled rubber.

 

We start with recycled rubber from old tires and use high-pressure, high-temperature vulcanization process to make an extremely durable and long lasting weight plate.

 

Plus, you're saving tires from the landfill!

VIRGIN RUBBER

The raw material in our Evolution and Performance bumper plates is new virgin rubber vs. recycled tires. Virgin plates have a consistent color, smooth texture, and are denser than our crumb bumper plates.

 

This means, pound-for-pound, our virgin black and color bumper plates are thinner than the same weight crumb plate, allowing you to stack more weight on the bar.

 

Virgin bumper plates also have a higher durometer rating than crumb plates.

ARMY COMBAT FITNESS TEST

The ACFT is a physical fitness assesment designed by the US Army to evaluate each soldier's physical fitness.

 

Implemented in stages, the test will be required for all US Army soldiers.

 

The ACFT includes deadlifts, power throws, hand release push-ups, sprint drag/carry, planks, and a 2-mile run.

 

Again Faster carries all the equipment needed to train for the ACFT.
