If you’re a collegiate or pro athlete, or into CrossFit style workouts, the Pursuit bar is for you. As you fine-tune your performance, you need a durable barbell that will lift with you.
A versatile, affordable option for gym owners who want to stock up on barbell equipment or athletes who want to set up their own home gym, this barbell is designed to help you achieve your fitness goals.
Bushing bars are typically used for heavier or slower movements, such as powerlifting exercises like squats, benches, and deadlifts.
People who use bearing or bushing weights interchangeably often do so because they're not married to any particular style of lifting. Both provide great spins. However, using a bearing bar over a bushing one for slower lifts can make you feel off-balance when performing movements like the bench press.
If you’ve ever performed a bench press with a needle-bearing bar, you know how it feels when the weight wobbles in your hands. The barbell allows the weight to move even though you’re typically strong and stable.
The Pursuit Olympic Bar has self-lubricated bushing bearings. The bushings are located between the sleeves and the bar. Because the bushings aren't fixed to the bars or sleeves, they let the sleeves rotate around the shaft. Bushings are slower and more measured compared to bearings. They're made to withstand the rigors of daily use at home or in busy gym environments.
Zine barbell finishes protect against rust very well, so they are perfect for high humidity environments. Plus, the zinc finish on the Pursuit Barbell’s shaft works its way into the knurling causing it to be slightly less aggressive on your hands.
With bronze bushings inside the loading sleeves, you can use the Pursuit bar for a variety of lifts. Bronze won’t ever wear down, slides smoothly against the steel sleeve, and provides a low-friction spin. When performing any lift that requires the bar to spin, this barbell will decrease the torque your wrists and elbows must endure. The slower spin makes this a solid barbell for powerlifting.
The volcano-style moderate knurling maximizes grip while eliminating sharp points that can tear your hands. Medium knurling is ideal for anyone focusing on high-rep lifts while still maintaining excellent grip on the bar during power lifts. The absence of center knurling is perfect for power cleans, as there is no knurl to cause chest irritation.
